Overview
Five days allow the southern desert to be crossed rather than visited. The route goes out through the Atlas and the Draa Valley, spends two nights in the Erg Chegaga dune field, and returns by the long western piste over Lake Iriki to Foum Zguid.
With an extra night at the erg there is time for the outlying dunes and the nomad encampments away from the main camps.
