5 Days Erg Chegaga and the Foum Zguid Crossing

Over the Tizi n'Tichka and onto the old caravan road to the Glaoui kasbah of Telouet, then down the Ounila Valley to Ait Ben Haddou.

Continue to Ouarzazate for dinner and the night.

Cross the Tizi n'Tinififft into the Draa Valley. Stops at Kasbah Tamnougalte and at Tamegroute for the green pottery kilns and the library.

Through Zagora to M'hamid El Ghizlane; camel ride at sunset and the night in camp near the desert gate.

Off the tarmac and roughly 60 km across the reg to the Erg Chegaga dunes, with a stop at the small oasis of Oum Laachar on the way.

Afternoon on the sand and dinner in camp at the foot of the erg.

A full day in the dune field: the outlying ergs, the wells used by herders, and encampments of families who still move with their animals.
