Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors, built partly over the water. Night in Casablanca.

North along the coast to Rabat, the administrative capital: the Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth, the Hassan Tower and the Chellah necropolis.

Continue inland to Fes for the night.

A full day on foot in Fes el Bali with an official guide. The medina is a dense network of lanes closed to vehicles, and the walk takes in the Chouara tanneries, the Bou Inania and Attarine medersas, the potters' quarter and the spice and carpet souks. Night in Fes.

North-west to Volubilis, the best preserved Roman site in Morocco, with mosaic floors still in place, then the hill town of Moulay Idriss.

The afternoon is in Meknes: the Bab Mansour gate, the granaries and stables of Moulay Ismail and the old walls. Return to Fes for the night.

A long transfer south across the Middle Atlas by Ifrane and the cedar forest at Azrou, then Beni Mellal and the plains to Marrakech.

Evening in the Jemaa el Fna square. Night in Marrakech.

A guided day in the city: the Koutoubia minaret, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the medersa Ben Youssef, then the souks north of the square.

Afternoon free in the gardens or the medina. Night in Marrakech.

Free morning in Marrakech, then the transfer north to Casablanca, around three hours by road. Night in Casablanca.

Transfer to Mohammed V airport for the return flight.
